Pakistan announced on Monday that it has decided to invite Singh. In a video statement, Pakistani foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said his country has decided to invite Singh after consultations with all stakeholders. “We have decided after consultation that we want to invite former Indian PM Manmohan Singh to the Kartarpur Corridor inauguration. Sikhism is Singh’s religion and he is a representative of the Sikh community,” Qureshi said.
The plan will have to be cleared by the Union cabinet before the sale process can commence, officials familiar with the development told TOI. A source said following the recommendations of the committee, the proposal will be moved for cabinet approval in the next two weeks.

The Mumbai Police has filed a case against the former bank management and promoters of HDIL in the Punjab and Maharashtra Cooperative Bank case and said a special investigation team will be probing the case. As per initial investigations, the bank’s losses since 2008 were Rs 4,355.46 crore.
